Field Trips

Hands-on, field-based activities developed by the Teaching Enhancement Program support students' exploration of the local marine environment. MLML staff and students meet school groups at pre-arranged sites to serve as science experts and to assist with field activities.

Field trip to the beach, students investigating mussel beds

Sea Lion Stewards  is a half-day marine science experience catered to the age group of the participants. Students watch an educational demonstration with trained SLEWTHS sea lions and researchers and then do a beach-clean-up on Moss Landing Beach. This program is virtually free to participants and services around 1000 students per year!
